The tour schedule has finally been decided, confirmed, and released for the Japan circuit of GACKT’s metal-head livehouse tour. This certainly won’t be an amiable round, but I guess this is the kind of thing GACKT gets off on. He needs to be driven %150 and everything, so I suppose sandwiching a European debut between all of these Japan dates should suit him perfectly fine.
Looks like good business for the Zepp clubs, in any case.

雅-MIYAVI TAKES ON TOKYO

That is going to be one weird kid.

For the precious heir-apparent PSC prince, MIYAVI, 2009 and 2010-so-far have been pretty heavy. In ’09 the eccentric self-proclaimed “Samurai guitarist” got married to pop-idol Melody and had a baby named Lovelie Miyavi. He then fully abdicated from PSC nobility, tossing crown and cape aside and striding off in all of his be-mulleted, tattooed glory to arise anew as (all caps) 雅-MIYAVI under his own, hand-made and home-grown label J-GLAM inc. (partner of EMI Japan). In ’10 he set out on his NEO TOKYO SAMURAI BLACK WORLD TOUR 2010, released a live DVD, best-of (fan’s choice) collection, and a new single (Survive). This month, lucky N. American fans will be able to participate in the above-mentioned tour, with dates spanning on through the end of June. All this between updating his lively Twitter.

But it would seem that the rock-act won’t be skipping home to bust out the Pikachu dolls with Lovelie. This popular papa will be hitting Tokyo up with a 12 date live-house tour entitled “‘TOUR in Tokyo’ 2010 Screaming Out from TOKYO” that will keep him preoccupied until the end of August.

Versailles World Tour Dates

Despite tragedy and some pretty heavy hard-times hitting the band last year, it would certainly seem that Versailles is fighting back with a lot of gumption. They are without a doubt putting the “world” back in the term “world-tour” this year with their extensive international circuit, circling through Japan, North and South America, and Europe. The band announced that they will perform 7 more dates in Japan, wrapping it up on September 4th with a tour-final at CC Lemon Hall. Here are the final dates for the rest of the tour– with South America and European dates included.

Kagrra, no Kai

Kimono-clad Kagrra, finally announced the dates for their summer 2010 Japan tour. In typing this up, I decided to keep the original kanji names as well as translating their meanings, because the traditional Japanese-ness is part of Kagrra,‘s unique style. It’s really cool that they have named every performance after a demon, monster, or spirit from Japanese mythology, in keeping with their unique tour name. For anyone not familiar with this band, they are a neo-Japan Visual Kei group, drawing on traditional Japanese culture and themes in their image and music. If you are unfamiliar with Japanese demons and monsters, see the footnotes.

Next Scene for The GazettE

Big news for The GazettE, who just finished their latest tour THE END OF STILLNESS for fan-club members across Japan. About 30,000 people made an attendance at the 13 dates scheduled through March. Following the conclusion of THE END OF STILLNESS tour, the band announced that they will be moving on to the “Next Scene” of their career, literally, with a brand new single titled NEXT SCENE, as well as a new DVD release “New Music Clips : Film Bug II”.

NEXT SCENE will start on July 21st (details pending), and the DVD will be out August 4th, for JPY4,800.

Not only that, but this “next scene” isn’t a still-shot. The band also announced a second, much longer, 2010 tour Tour10 Nameless Liberty Six Bullets 1 & 2. The tour kicks off at Nippon Budokan on July 22nd, the day after NEXT SCENE hits shelves, and will run for around 40 dates, with the final on December 26th. The band stated that last year they performed a New Year’s live to welcome in the year, and that perhaps this year they will do a “Big Bonenkai party” (End Year Party) to bid sayounara to 2010.

I’m relieved that they’re starting a new thing called NEXT SCENE, as Dim Scene, cool a name as that may be, is hardly a motivational tagline for moving forward.
